I have always been Looking for Leisure.
Leisure to read,
And leisure to write.
Leisure to watch autumn leaves fall to the ground,
To watch kittens at play,
And birds building their nests.
Leisure to see my friends,
Or at least call them everyday.
Leisure to pick berries from hedgerows,
And fruit from trees.
Leisure to fill my basket with roses,
Then arrange them lovingly.
Leisure to sail the world on a luxury cruise,
Reclining on the ship’s deck, sipping tea.
Leisure to live life to the fullest,
While I can still, walk and hear and see!
NOTE: I was answering a set of questions on another blog post earlier today. One of them was about favourite leisure time activities.
Although I have several hobbies, life has not allowed me to indulge in them as often as I would like. Between post-graduation, career and family life, my adult life has been quite busy.
As a child, the summer and winter breaks never seemed long enough. Weekends always seemed to pass in the blink of an eye. All my life, it seems, I have been looking for leisure.
Written for FOWC with Fandango—-leisure.
