“Wake up sleepy head!”said Tina as she rapped on her sister’s bedroom door. Tina’s sibling Pam didn’t answer so she walked in anyway.
“Don’t you remember? It’s Mum’s birthday today,”she said to a still groggy Pam. “I have a present for her. All I need is some gift wrap. Its a beautiful merino wool cardigan in her favourite shade of green. You can go halves if you haven’t bought anything for her.”
By now Pam was sitting up in bed and looking at her elder sister with some annoyance.
“Why should I go halves with you? So you get the credit and I get a bad rap for not choosing my own present?” she said indignantly.
Then she brightened up and suggested to Pam,”Let’s go to the mall. I will get a present for Mum and then we will get lettuce wraps from that new health food place. What do you think I should get her?”
