Blogging As A Mood Elevator

The mood elevating properties of blogging were brought home to me once again this morning. I was feeling a little tired and achy and down in the dumps despite the fact that everything around me was going smoothly. I put it down to Monday morning blues but that would be a new one for me. Usually I greet Monday with a smile. I am generally an optimistic person and I try to put out positive vibes on my blog.

My doldrums could be due to a subclinical viral infection since lots of people around me have coughs and colds. In plain English this means the aches and pains that you may get instead of a full blown cold or fever.

But whatever it is, it needs to be dealt with. So I took two paracetamols, sat down with a cup of coffee and my laptop. I finished a blog post that I had begun and felt better. Then I looked at my notifications and wrote replies to some comments and felt better still.

I decided to write a new post about all this and by now I was back to my usual upbeat self, aches and pains forgotten. Of course, the coffee and paracetamols must have kicked in too.

However, it is really nice to be able to get down your thoughts. Adding an image or two and then hitting the “publish” button is somehow very satisfying. The idea that the words you’re writing down will be read by some one who might make a comment on them is the icing on the cake.

i feel so much better now. I can face the rest of Monday and the whole week with a positive outlook.

What do you do when you are feeling low?

Does blogging get you up and going ?

I would love to know.

Happy Monday Folks !

Have a great week ahead.

  1. My blogging community have been such a wonderful source of support. I try not to post about anything I consider a minor annoyance, but when life gets tough it’s nice to know I can write about it and that it is received with kindness and compassion. There have been times especially the past three years when I don’t know how I would have managed without the ongoing support and encouragement of people I interact with on a regular basis through my blog. I am sincerely grateful for all of you.
