Yet another round of intriguing questions posed by Rory ( A Guy Called Bloke).
What would make us more non disposable humans?
What is a disposable human? If it is a finite being, then leaving behind a masterpiece like a great work of art, literature or science would make us “less disposable”
How much is a human being worth?
A human being’s true worth is immeasurable. We humans tend to measure ourselves and others in terms of financial, professional or social success. Even a supposedly “worthless” human being can shine in the appropriate situation.
Do you enjoy being human or would your prefer to be more digital or robotic?
I find being a human quite satisfactory, thank you ! Each human being is unique. Except for identical twins, no two of our species are alike. Robots made at a given time and in a particular design are all alike so where’s the fun in that ?
When was the last time a book made you 1] laugh, 2] cry, 3] get through a difficult time in your life, 4] really think about you and your life, and finally, is there a book that you enjoy that you recommend to others frequently for them to read?
- A book that made me laugh : was “Death in the Stocks” by Georgette Heyer. Although it is a murder mystery, the dialogue between some of the characters is very funny.
- A book that made me cry: was “The Book Thief” by Markus Zusak . Although beautifully written, it made me so sad that I could not finish it.
- A difficult time in my life was when I was working, studying for a postgraduate degree, tending to a terminally ill relative as well as looking after my children. It was a hectic and stressful time but I used to take mini breaks with my favourite novels when it got too much. The authors I read during those days were Agatha Christie, Georgette Heyer and Miss Read.
- My current favourites are “Homo Deus” and “21 Lessons for the 21st Century” by Yuval Noah Harari. I strongly reccommend them to people who are looking for non fiction that explains modern civilization without getting too heavy or boring.
books are a godsend! I love my books and wouldn’t be without them!

Yes, we would like to be humans! Great answers. Heyer always puts a smile on your face no mater which book you’re reading.

Spoken like a true Heyer fan.
Some of the romances are quite funny too.
