Don’t you just love the word “because”? It is one of my favourite words in the English language. It can explain, rationalise and sympathise :
” I missed your birthday because I was preoccupied with my father’s illness.”
“You have gained weight because you’ve been taking steroids for your asthma.”
“Now I realise why Susan was doing so badly at school: its because of her parents’ divorce.”
Written for: FOWC with Fandango–because
Yup! It is a good word. Just by itself it can say a lot too. Because!!!

“Because I said so” was often what I heard from my father whenever I asked him “why?” when I was a kid.

I can relate to that.
But my kids would never be satisfied with this today nor would most others
