“I know exactly what to buy for my cousin’s birthday, I will zip into and out of the Mall in twenty minutes or less.
Oh! I didn’t know there was a special weekend sale, all my favourite brands too, woohoo!
Let me see if I can find a pair of suede boots to match my new camel coat?
What! three shoes for the price of two, let me get them in this season’s new colours, I just hope they have my size.
Three hours later, I drive home with an empty wallet and a truckload of shoes, clothes and cosmetics all at bargain prices!”
This is written for the Friday Five Lines or Less prompt from Patricia’s Place. The idea is to write a story or poem of five lines or less. This week’s word is “shopping.”
I do that with online shopping. Personalized recommendations are dangerous.

I haven’t begun to shop on line yet.
I guess I don’t trust myself to stay restrained.

It happens Di often that I dread going shopping during sales season. 🙀😱😅

Used to happen a lot before I retired…not so much these days. But I did you get something for your cousin? Thanks for sharing your story.

This story was fiction as was the cousin.
But it happens quite often that I go in to get something and endup browsing as well as buying.

Sometimes I go to the grocery store for one or two things and leave with bags of stuff. Then when I get home I find I didn’t get what I actually went for. 😾

The cousin was fictitious but I do tend to get distracted by “special offers” when I need to buy something specific leading to unnecessary expenditure of time and energy.
