Where and how do you see your blog in 2020 ?
I see my blog in 2020 as I have always seen it, with love and affection. On a serious note, I see it growing both in terms of content and traffic since I intend to post quite a lot in the coming months.
Are you going to make any ., significant changes ?
For the time being, I am going to continue as before. I write about a mixture of topics and find it difficult to restrict myself to a specific niche. Something I want to do is learn some new computer techniques that could perhaps improve the layout of my blog. Another thing that I want to make time for in 2020 is to promote my blog on social media
In your opinion how relevant or popular are text based blogs (as opposed to vlogs) going to be in 2020 ?
In November and December I saw some YouTube videos made by veteran bloggers. They claimed that all bloggers would need to get on the video bandwagon in 2020 if they were to survive. Their reason was that people no longer have time for text based content. In my opinion, text based content is going to survive beyond 2020. There are several reasons for this. Writers turned bloggers form a major chunk of blog readership. As long as they continue to write they will keep reading the work of others too. Video content might seem more appealing to some but it is less practical for others. There are many situations where you have time on your hands but you cannot watch or listen to stuff even with earphones. At the dentist, you need to hear the receptionist call out your name. In a queue, you can’t really concentrate on video. However, tapping away on your smart phone to create text based content is quite do-able in both situations. Okay, these were my opinions. Now I would love to hear yours’.
Q: Where and how do you see your blog in 2020 ?
A: Shrugs, I don’t have 2020 vision….bad joke, im sure there will be variations of those this year…
Q: Are you going to make any significant changes ?
A: Recently changed blog title.. Documented the thought process in choosing a name here https://shrug.home.blog/2020/01/06/a-rose-by-any-other/
Q: In your opinion how relevant or popular are text based blogs (as opposed to vlogs) going to be in 2020 ?
A: Still relevant…. In the way books are relevant in an age of movies and series. The writing medium provides a method of expression that stimulates in a unique way….for e.g. I was left dumbstruck at the ineptitude of …. Ah damn, out of space, read my blog for the rest of the story.
