Melanie of sparksfromacombustiblemindbrings us a set of fun questions every week.

QUESTIONS:

What’s something your brain tries to make you do, which you have to will yourself NOT to do? (could be a bad habit, a physical response to something…your interpretation is as good as mine! )

My brain loves to worry and tries to set me off on a rollercoaster of stress and anxiety. This can at times trigger one of my famous headaches..i try to keep my brain in check usually but sometimes (ok, often) it manages to get the better of me.

When someone finds out what you do, or where you are from, what question do they always ask you?

When people find out that I am a doctor as well as a wife and mother they usually ask me how I get it all done. I answer truthfully that I am not superwoman; I had a lot of family support when the kids were little.

What’s something terrifying that we’ve all come to accept as a fact of life?

There are several such things in modern life. The one that is uppermost in my mind is environmental pollution.

Should governments make laws to protect people from harming themselves? Could that even work? (yes this one is deep, maybe too deep).

Yes it is fairly deep. It would require very detailed examination of what constitutes self harm. I think it isva question that requires a lot of thought.

Gratitude is an Attitude…

Please share your gratitude for this past week in the form of a photo, a quote or a thought. 🙂

I am sharing a thought: even though there is a lot wrong with the world today, I am still glad to be alive in 2020.

Tiny poll: I’m curious what type of questions YOU, the reader, would like to see more of? Less of? Has SYW gotten too philosophical and less fun in nature?

I enjoy the SYW questions and try to answer them as much as time and life allow. In my opinion , they are a pot pourri of humorous and serious.

My immediate response would be that I love the fun questions most. But upon reflection, the serious ones, like today’s set, are very interesting too. In fact, each of today’s questions can be discussed at length and turned into a post in itself.

A feature of SYW that I really miss is the little pictures that you put in with the questions a few times.

It’s a great series Melanie. Thanks for running it.
