5 Things I Like About Myself
Sadje of KeepItAlive has begun this great new tag. It is about listing 5 things you like about yourself. You can read her original post here.
Here is my list:
1. My smile
I have been told often that I have a smiling face and I am rather proud of that. My smile is a gift from my mother. I must have been “scowlie” as a kid for she would often urge me to smile more. “A smile is half your success” she used to tell me.
2. My ability to write
Ever since I could read, I have wanted to write. School essays never seemed like work to me and I used to earn top grades in English Composition without any effort at all. This flair for writing helped me later in my scientific writing too. Once I had all the data and references, writing a research paper was no problem at all.
3. Seeing the silver lining
One of my talents that I find very useful is seeing my cup as half full instead of half empty. Contrary to what many may think, this works out as very practical since it keeps me from despair. It’s not that I am never frustrated or disgruntled (I am only human) but I am quick to remember my strengths.
4. Not giving up
I am quite tenacious, not giving up easily on myself or others. I subscribe to the concept “if at first you don’t succeed try, try, try again”
