Blogging Insights # 14–Art or Science?

The Nature of Blogging Questions 1. Is blogging an art or science? 2. Can people without a “natural talent” for writing become bloggers? 3. Have you ever taken or taught a blogging course? My Answers 1. Is blogging an art or science? In ny opinion it is a bit of both. It is an art in that it requires creativity. You must have new ideas as well as the flair to put your own spin on old ideas or currently trending topics. Blogging is a science in that it requires basic (very basic in my case) technical know how to operate your blog. 2. Can people without a “natural talent” for writing become bloggers? Although I launched my blog primarily from an urge to write, I don’t consider this flair/talent a prerequisite for blogging. As far as talent is concerned, I am a firm believer that “Genius is 99% perspiration and only 1% inspiration ” If you work hard enough at anyrhing, you can learn to do it. Having said that, there are people who have to work less hard at certain things. Some can do math with minimum effort and others like many of my friends on WordPress can “write in their sleep” The web is a very “visual” place. Hence those who are good at photography or phoro-editing can run blogs successfully while having to write very little text. 3. Have you ever taken or taught a blogging course?

Paid as well as free blogging courses abound on the internet. When I launched my blog, I signed up for a free course but I did not have the time to benefit from it. As for teaching, well, I am still learning myself !

Okay! That was my bit. Now I am really looking forward to reading YOUR answers. Please remember to tag your post # blogginginsights, and leave a link in my comments section too.   I posted this piece yesterday but it had several glitches. When I  “publish” from my phone, the comments sometimes get turned off. I have kind friends who tell me about it. This is what happened with this post too so i am re-posting it today.
