Blogging Insights # 30 – Evolving

Your blog is never static. It is a living and breathing organism that continues to grow as you grow as a blogger. Sometimes this growth takes unexpected directions and you end up with something very different from what you had envisioned.

Credit for today’s question goes to Di of Pensitivity

Has your blog turned out more or less as you expected or totally different?

Yes and No.

When I began, I wanted to keep the tone of my blog light-hearted and not dig too deeply or too seriously on issues. Except for my posts on the current Covid-19 pandemic, I think I have managed to adhere to this policy.

In the beginning I expected to post mostly about food and books. I have ended up writing so many articles on motivation/personal development that I am thinking of making it my preferred niche.

Okay, that was my bit; now I would love to read your views. You could share them in the comments section below. Better still, why not write a post of your own about this? Just remember to tag it

  1. Thanks for the nod Tanya.
My blog has turned out totally different as I expected to write about house budgets more than anything else. I’m pleased the way it has developed though and out that down to my readers interest in my musings!
    Take care.

  2. Mine will be up tomorrow morning.

I know that WordPress seems to feel that you can’t have a good blog if you don’t have a niche, but almost all the ones I read cover a lot of different things. I don’t think I could even begin to figure out what niche would suit me.
