Here is my contribution to this week’s 5 Things :

5 Qualities I Admire in Others

This is possibly the most important quality of all. Those who have no integrity are no good to themselves or others. Without honesty and strength of character, one may achieve superficial success but there can be no lasting relationships, personal or otherwise.

Strong nerves

The ability to stay calm in a stressful situation is a sterling quality. People who can face any situation, difficulty or criticism without batting an eyelid or letting their feathers get ruffled are to be admired. With strong nerves you can get a lot done since you can face whatever life throws at you.

A sense of humour

Without a sense of humour, life becomes difficult for yourself and for those around it. The ability to laugh at yourself and at whatever shortcomings or mishaps that come your way guarantees a happy life.

I greatly admire those who have mastered the art of the quick comeback. The appropriate answer to a sticky question can save a difficult situation.

The ability to put yourself in another person’s shoes and to look at things from the point of view of others is a wonderful quality. People who are sensitive to feelings and moods can have a better grasp of a situation. These people can also do a lot of good in the world by anticipating needs and desires.
