5 Favourite Jams and Preserves

The 5 Things tag keeps surfacing on WordPress. I am not sure who first thought of it but I have always found it fun to do. I thought “Why not make it a weekly feature?”

If you participate in a post of your own please tag it #5things.

A couple of weeks ago we had fun listing our favourite varieties of bread so this time it seems quite natural to move on to 5 kinds of jam to go with those. Here are my favourites:

Strawberry Jam

Nothing exemplifies the English afternoon tea like scones with cream and strawberry jam.

Blackcurrant Preserve

Both blackcurrant and blackberry preserve are lovely with scones or toast. They take cheesecake to the next level.

Rose’s Lime Marmalade

The tart and tangy taste of Rose’s lime marmalade is like that of Rose’s lime cordial. It is just perfect for those who don’t like their preserves too sweet.

Fig Jam

Fig jam is sweet and yummy. The fig seeds add an extra texture and  crunch.

Orange Marmalade

Marmalade is such a lovely way to enjoy oranges when they are out of season. It is an essential component of the perfect breakfast.
