Melanie poses interesting questions every week. This time they are a little out of the ordinary and therefore more fun:

Oddball Questions:

Is cereal soup? Why or why not?

Isn’t this a bit like asking, “Are apples oranges?” or , borrowing a line from Alice in Wonderland  , “Why is a raven like a writing desk?”
Cereal and soup are both comfort food and both are eaten with a spoon out of a bowl but that is where the similarities end.

What are some interesting ways to answer everyday questions like “how’s it going” or “what do you do”?

What was your favorite toy growing up?
Such questions are usually fillers that are used in small talk. I don’t think people asking them are really interested in the answers. Neutral, non committal responses can suffice. To “how”s it going?”  you could just answer “fine:. In response to “what do you do” you could reply,” this and that”.

Story books were always my favourites.  They could take you into lands of make believe that no toy ever could.

If you have a pet, and you could ask it three questions, what would you ask?

1. What do you think of the US election?

2. When is the COVID-19 pandemic going to end?

3. Do you think I am nuts since I am asking you such questions?

What’s one simple thing society at large could do to improve our world?

Being considerate is the one thing that could improve mankind no end — being considerate of each other’s feelings, needs and desires.

  1. Thanks for Sharing Your World Dr. Tanya! That soup question really brought in some interesting answers, and I like your explanation very much…they’re both in bowls and eaten with a spoon! Clever! Your pet questions are on the minds of most pet owners now and then, I’m sure, and yes, we probably think THEY think we’re nuts..a little bit. 😉 Have a great week!
