Finally — I get to write about the book with which it all began. In 1921, Agatha Christie ‘s first book , The Mysterious Affair at Styles was published. This book introduces Hercule Poirot. It is set in the country house genre. The victim is an autocratic rich old lady. There is a large ish closed circle of suspects . In addition, Agatha gets to exercise her knowledge of poison.

This is my FAVORITE of all the Poirot novels AND the Suchet episodes. It’s just that good (IMHO). I have enjoyed this one the most I think, and have read and seen it several times.
