A girl alone and adrift, with no real ties but a lot of baggage. Luckily for her, she meets mystery writer Ariadne Oliver who advises her to consult Hercule Poirot.
After a lot of sleuthing, Mrs. Oliver and M. Poirot manage to pull the Third Girl out of a quagmire of drugs and deceit.
Is this a short story or a full book? Why can’t I remember this one. I used to m pride myself that I’ve read all of Christie’s books but it seems that I was deluding myself.

This is a whole novel.
You probably don’t remember it because it was not as interesting as most other books bu Agatha.

Oh, I see. It has been at least 8-10 years since I read any of her books. 😉

Then you must take the opportunity to revisit them during the pandemic.
I will be happy to supply any titles missing from your collection.

This one is so twisty …. the ending is a surprise. I love the David Suchet episode featuring it, it stars some of my favorite British actors. I haven’t read the book in some time, but in the TV version, ‘gas lighting” (the practice of trying to make someone think they are crazy or going crazy) is brought forth too! Excellent choice!

Thank you Melanie.
Gas lighting is absolutely the right modern term for what happens on this story
