TODAY’S QUESTION
How do you think this pandemic year has been for blogging in general and your blog in particular?
MY ANSWER
It has been a little over a year since the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world in March 2020. The lockdowns and social distancing and the disease and fatalities that followed changed the world forever.
My blog was a lifeline during this time. In a time of isolation it allowed me to interact with friends across the globe. It also let me vent and rant in the several posts that I wrote about the pandemic.
For the blogosphere the pandemic was probably a good thing. Although I haven’t checked any statistics, I am sure lots of people launched new blogs and wrote and posted a lot more than previously.
Personally, it was a very busy year for me so I did not post more than usual. I guess, the staying at home let me keep up with my posting otherwise I might have fallen behind.
Okay , that was my bit. Now I would love to learn what you think.

Better still, why not write a post of your own? Just remember to tag it #blogginginsights
I think blogging has really been a god save for myself. It’s also been interesting too see the different updates from other countries. As bad as I feel for some countries, Australia is doing really well! But mental health wise, this one of the only places where I feel like I’ve been able to rant and people listen, as well as myself, realising how many of us are going through the same thing! I have felt less alone because of WordPress!

I’ve certainly had more time to spend on my blogging and frankly I am looking forward to spending less time. A large part of my blog has been about my travels and thus I’ve been obliged to look at other areas of my life here in the South of France which ultimately has been very enjoyable. Of course, it’s always lovely interacting with other bloggers whatever the conditions.

I think the year before COVID was for me a lot more productive. It was a bad year for loss and there was so much anger and pain everywhere, all I wanted to do was retreat.

I don’t blame you.
It had been a terrible year but blogging has been a way of sharing and staying connected in the periods of isolation.

Covid caused a lot of people pain in one way or another. You soldiered through though, providing those beautiful photographs and making me smile with your tales. You have a gift, Marilyn. I’m glad Covid didn’t ‘win’!
