We have been talking about different kinds of bread in the last two installments of #5things. It follows quite naturally for the conversation to progress to Jams. Here are my favourites:
Marmalade
Strawberry Jam
Blackcurrant Jam,
Fig Jam,
Apple Jelly
Buttered toast and jam were regular parts of my childhood as was cream. I have tried not to let my kids get too used to them as the world was much more sugar and fat conscious when they were growing up. These days I try to buy the “no sugar added” versions.
I would love to know about your faves.
Always homemade

is my contribution today. I’ve gotten ‘sugar-free’ jam or jelly (Smuckers) because of my diabetes and I found the stuff awful. I understand the reason that it is available and I applaud you for putting your family’s health first though.

I don’t know how I’ve stopped eating all this sugary food off late. During my childhood I absolutely enjoyed eating butter+jam toast.

Yes, jam and butter were a part of our childhood.
Nowadays parents don’t like them .
