Week 31 of Sunday Poser, a very interesting series by Sadje of Keep it Alive:

The question this week is;
Do you love reading? How many books do you read per week, or per month?
Ever since I learned to read I have been in love with books and reading. Luckily, this was something that my parents (book lovers themselves) encouraged. As a child I think I read rather fast and was always running out of books.
In my adult life I was rather busy with my family, career and post graduate studies. Reading could have taken a back seat at this time but, surprisingly, it did not. Books and reading were what kept me sane during the most hectic part of my life. Reading was my rest, relaxation and therapy.
I am still quite busy with various transitions in my life. Again, books are what keep me ticking.
I have never been able to keep a track of my reading since I read books of various lengths. Sometimes I am reading more than one book at a time and keep switching from one to the other. There is one thing I can say for sure : I definitely read more than one book per month.
This is a wonderful habit. I remember having discussion with you about which books you were reading and we had pretty similar tastes. Thanks Tanya for sharing your thoughts

I think it was through our common interest in books that we first became friends.
Thanks for the interesting question.

I decided to make this year the year for reading for me where I do a minimum of 21 minutes per day. It was hard at first but now I definitely read about 30-60 minutes before going to bed.

Reading before going to bed has been a lifelong habit for me. I think once you have begun you will always continue.
Happy reading 🌻

I have had to reign myself in as I cant put a book down once I start, unless its really awful. So I have been trying to do a chapter a day in the middle of the day. Otherwise it will be a torch under the covers till its finished. We have these massive book sales here, where every book no matter its style is 2 Euro. I tend to mass buy and work my way through them over a few weeks. I hated reading as a kid, but in adulthood I love it.

Your book buying ha bit seems similar to my family ‘s.
I tend to binge read, especially if it is crime fiction.

I have a sign in my office that says “I cannot live without books.” Three years ago we “downsized” and gave boxes of books to a local private school. I limited myself to just 3 bookcases. However, those are full and I need more as I can’t stop buying books. And yes, I am usually reading 2-3 at a time. Recently I went to a bookstore and bought 4 books, then came home and went to the library where I checked out 3 more.

You sound like my family.
Nearly all of us are the same way about books.
We need to downsize our collection too but can’t bear to part with our books. Storage space has become a real problem. ☹
