Blogging Insights – New Format # 19

Quitting or taking a hiatus?

“If you get tired, learn to rest, not quit.”

Have you ever felt that you are too tired, busy, preoccupied , overwhelmed or just plain lazy to post on your blog? Whenever you feel like throwing in the towel and giving up on blogging, taking a hiatus is a good idea. So I agree with this quote. The quote is about life in general but I thought it could be applied to blogging.

I have taken a short break from blogging a few times and come back feeling ready to roll out posts. It is important, however, to announce the hiatus so that people know you haven’t given up.

What do you think? I would love to know.

  1. On the whole, I agree with your sentiment. Taking a break is occasionally the best thing to do. The issue is knowing when simply taking a break isn’t enough, and it’s legitimately time to call it quits. Spending more time on “hiatus” than blogging could be a good indicator that it’s time to call it quits, or at the very least, restructure.

  2. Way too many new bloggers [an veteran ] quit, when what they need to do is take a break, reduce their output and concentrate upon their inpute more and make the necessary changes. a refresh is sometimes all that is needed to start the journey again.
