Blogging Insights – New Format # 21

Today’s quote is another example of how anything related to life can be applied to blogging:

To thrive in life quote

To thrive in life you need three bones. A wishbone, a backbone, and a funny bone.

A funny bone is the V-shaped bone between the neck and breast of a cooked bird that traditionally is removed from the bird and pulled apart by two people, allowing the one who gets the longer piece to make a secret wish. By stretching this concept of making a wish, the wishbone can also be taken as a sense of optimism. In blogging (as in life) a small amount of optimism goes a long way. Keeping a positive and hopeful outlook adds a lot to the experience of both blogger and reader.

The backbone is simpler. We also know it as the spinal column which is responsible for your being able to stand or sit up. The backbone symbolizes strength, fortitude and integrity. These are all essential qualities in life as well as in blogging. They give you credibility in the blogosphere as well as in the world in general.

The funny bone, surprisingly, isn’t even a real bone. It is the area near the elbow where the ulnar nerve is close to the surface of the skin: when it is struck, a sharp tingling sensation is experienced along the forearm and hand. The funny bone is also taken as a figurative term for a sense of humour. A sense of humour is extremely valuable to a blogger / writer. It makes content much more readable and enjoyable. It is an extremely valuable quality that makes life easier for those who possess it.

Do you agree with my interpretation of this quote?

I would love to know what you think.
