5 Quick Workday Breakfasts

Before the pandemic turned the world on its head, breakfast was a hurried meal. Some skipped it altogether while others had it on the go.

Being a “brekfast person” I am unable to face my workday without a morning meal no matter how rushed. I have put together a list of five of my favourites:

Overnight Oats

This is the quickest breakfast ever since you put it together the night before. Layer quick cooking oatmeal with fruit, nuts, milk or yoghurt before you go to bed. In the morning you have a filling and nutritious meal. Do this in a mason jar and you have breakfast to go.

Packaged cereal mixes have to be the quickest breakfast option ever. Compatible with milk, yoghurt and non-dairy options they are also the most versatile.

Nature’s fast food comes pre-packaged in single serving sizes in the form of bananas , apples, oranges etc. These are great to start the day.

Granola Bars

These are what my family like to grab when they don’t have time for breakfast. They are available in many healthy and yummy options. One of these days I plan to start making my own.

Cinnamon Rolls/ Croissants/Muffins etc

I have left the best for last. These are treats I don’t eat regularly but enjoy with a takeaway coffee sometimes.

Are you a breakfast person? If so, what are your favourites? I would love to know.

  1. I loved overnight oats, but have to avoid them for now due to a sensitivity. I have replaced it with chia pudding. There are a lot of healthy breakfast recipes – so far my favorite is chocolate.
