TODAY’S QUOTE:

“The expert in everything was once a beginner.”
“Beginner” and “Expert” are two ends of a spectrum and there is a long journey between them. What the world sees is usually the expert: musicians, authors, scientists, athletes, artists and so many others. They become known only when they have reached the pinnacle in their field.
Although veteran blogger Fandango will probably call today’s quote fortune cookie material, I think it holds true for all skills including blogging. As a blogger I consider myself somewhere less than halfway along the beginner/expert spectrum.
I chose this quote to provide inspiration to all those tentative bloggers who are thinking of taking the plunge. There are many people who launch their blogs only to abandon them after a short while. This is a reminder that a lot of time and effort is required before you reach the top of the tree.
What do you think? I would love to know. You can leave a reply in my comments section or write a post of your own #blogginginsights
Good topic to end a year. I’ve always been fond of a “journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step (Lao-tze). Beginner to Expert is far more than just skill and certainly not a linear progression. We all know blogging is way more than just words. It is a multitude of littler accomplishments and skills. I would say it is varying degrees of success and happiness of the results – don’t you think?

It takes ten years to master a new skill they tend to say. I have been an expert according to other before. i never viewed myself as any kind of expert – merely passionate about the things l love to do. But everyone starts somewhere even with blogging. The beauty to any skill is that with the learning curve we never stop learning ten years, five years, twenty years, there is ALWAYS something new to learn.

Exactly. I once came across a senior colleague who said there was nothing any one could teach him any more. I got the feeling that this attitude made him intellectually and professionally dead.

It does, it mostly means that as far as the league of ‘l know everything’ goes, they have closed their minds to new learnings and teachings – they have tired of the process. it is at that precise point they should start to learn something completely new and give their mind the opportunity to feel young again 🙂
