My theme for this years A to Z Blogging Challenge is

Elements of Crime Fiction.

My topic for today is

VICTIM

The identity of the murder victim is the first thing that needs to be established in a murder investigation. The victim’s backstory, personality, hopes and fears are all pointers towards the murderer’s identity and the motive for the crime.
