TODAY’S QUOTE :

“If I waited for perfection, I would never write a word.” — Margaret Atwood
MY THOUGHTS
Margaret Atwood is one of my current favourite authors. I have read two books by her: Alias Grace and The Testaments and am currently on my third, The Handmaid’s Tale. I have also bought a book of essays by her called Burning Questions. Some of these are on writing and you might see quotes from it in this space.
I agree with Ms Atwood’s quote completely. All that I write and post is far less than perfect . Yet it gets my ideas and opinions across to people. Waiting for the perfect ideas and words would prevent me from writing anything at all.
What do you think? I would love to know.

I really need to teach myself that. Imperfections are a way of life! It’s how we learn.

My motto is, “Do it in time, forget perfection.”

🙂 Perfection is a myth. Therefore, everyone should know that there is no such thing as the perfect blog post.

I think that should change to if I waited for perfection I wouldn’t publish. I write, and know there are imperfections. It can go through a beta reader, alpha reader, editor and still there would be mistakes. I was reading a published book which had a couple of mistakes.

Yes, that is a good version too.

I definitely agree with this. Even when I feel that what I wrote was “perfect” when I hit the publish button, I don’t believe I have ever written a post that after going back and rereading it later, I still think, “There’s no better way to have said that.”

Absolutely! I hate to read my older post becuase I know I will cringe. I have found reading my post outload prior to publishing helps.
