“Twitter is like a calling card. Facebook is like a phone call. Blogging is like a full-fledged conversation!”
Most of my posts begin as imaginary conversations inside my head. This quote, at first, seemed right up my alley. On second thoughts it is actually about the social media platforms versus blogging.
Again, blogging occurs on electronic media and it involves social interaction in the form of comments. Is it or isn’t it part of social media?
Coming back to today’s quote , Twitter and Facebook seem rather “inferior” to Blogging . Twitter seems limited by brevity. Facebook seems limited by its potentially universal access. You cannot have a meaningful discussion in either situation.
I am coming across as quite social media phobic on this post. This is not the case, I can assure you. I am heavily dependent on WhatsApp for staying in touch with friends and family. Instagram has replaced my glossy magazine style fix.
I am at a loss, however, about the place of blogging with regard to social media. Or am I interpreting the quote all wrong ?
Your thoughts , my friends?
