MY THOUGHTS

When I first launched my blog in 2018 I was at a very busy phase in my life. Having taken a sabbatical from work to look after my family full time I was doing a lot. Since I love to write, I started the blog as a part of “me time” or “self care”.

Any writing or reading of blog posts in those days I could only do in brief snatches of time. While waiting with a family member in a doctor’s waiting room, standing in line at a supermarket check out or on my way to a social commitment — I used to write on my phone. If you call blog posts writing then I agree with today’s quote.

Around three years ago I began to work on a lifelong dream. Since I was five years old, I have wanted to write a book.

The idea for my novel is there. I have the plot figured out . I thought I would write it piecemeal like I do my blog posts but I haven’t gone beyond a couple of chapters. Some things, it seems, cannot be written on the go.

Working moms and dads have been known to write books by waking up 2 or 3 hours before their kids. I did that too when I was younger and working on a thesis. It is something I can’t manage anymore. For novel writing I would tend to disagree with today’s quote.

We have veteran bloggers as well as some writing professionals in our blogging community. I would welcome their suggestions as they discuss this quote.
