TODAY’S QUOTE:
“The first step in blogging is not writing them but reading them.“~Jeff Jarvis
MY THOUGHTS:
If only someone had told me this way back in 2017 when I first thought of blogging . Back then, I wasted a lot of time watching YouTube videos on how to blog. Only some of these videos were any good. The majority were a waste of time and a few were even misleading.
Had I spent all that time reading posts on other blogs and leaving comments on them, the benefits would have been two fold. I would have learned the craft first hand and also built up a community of bloggers if I interacted regularly on the same blogs.
If I were to give blogging advice to a new comer this is what it would be :
Read as many blog posts as you can especially in your chosen niche or genre (if you have chosen one). If you haven’t thought of a niche then just read whatever posts appeal to you. As I love to repeat ad nauseum,
“The best school for blogging is other blogs.”
What do you think? I would love to know.
You can leave a reply in my comments section.
Better still, why not write a post of your own? Just remember to tag it #blogginginsights
When I started I didn’t know what I wanted to do, I still don’t know what I’m doing, lol

I don’t know what I’m doing either — and this is after 10 years with the same blog! Every time I think I know, something happens and I realize – nope. Don’t know nothin’!

I know how that feels ❤

That’s how you keep growing mentally.
People who think they have nothing new to learn are intellectually dead.

My sentiments exactly!

Absolutely, the ultimate decision is always yours. Reading other blogs is a great way to get ideas, inspiration (this is not an idea), and courage.

I agree. I spend my morning at least, reading and commenting on blogs. I love meeting new people here on WP. My only advice is to be yourself and write what and how you want. I think getting stuck in one form isn’t good so try everything!😂. I blunder through poetry rules, etc and enjoy it all. I have fun with it. To me it’s fun, otherwise it’s just another job.

I agree, blogging must be fun, first and foremost.

Well Tanya I agree! Its important to read others blogs, comment and then possibly they’ll do the same for you! Its how we build our community!

I am learning as I read other bloggers, and what makes them interesting to read. I’m not an expert in blogging, far from it, but I do tend to learn as I go along, rather than reading about how to blog.
