5 Things Tuesday — 5 Favourite Teas

After last week’s post on coffee, it follows that this time our 5ThingsTuesday post should be on tea. Besides, some readers are averse to coffee and tea is their preferred poison.

Although I enjoy my coffee, I am hopelessly addicted to tea. While I am not particular about food, my tea must be exactly how I like it. I can’t function otherwise.

My favourites:

Lipton Yellow Label Tea

This has been my tea of choice for the past thirty or forty years. I like to to travel with my own tea bags and powdered . This is the brand of tea that I use in my daily routine. The rest that I have listed are only for occasional use.

Lady Grey Tea

Twining ‘s Lady Grey is the one I like. It is a little milder in flavour than Earl Grey Tea. This is probably why I like it better.

English Breakfast Tea

I developed a liking for this on a trip to Norway. When I tried it back home in Pakistan, it did not taste the same. The Scandinavian water added to the flavour.

Lemon Grass

Lemon Grass is a plant with long, narrow leaves and stalks. Whether fresh or dry, they make a lovely tea that is enjoyable with or without a few drops of lemon juice.

Cardamom Tea

This is ordinary black tea to which cardamoms, whether whole or powdered have been added. The resulting aromatic brew is very delicious.

Honourable Mention — Kashmiri Chai

This tea is in a class of its own. It is like a latte but with even more milk. The resulting fragrant bevrage is a delicate salmon pink in colour. Some like to add a topping of cream and crushed almonds or pistachios. Yummy!

Are you a tea aficionado? What are your favourites? I would love to know.

  1. Yea is not my first preference but I am a big fan of Cardamom tea. Lipton yellow label is my preferred black tea. We use it for both hot and iced tea. Speaking of iced, this is my preferred choice. Black milk tea is addictive.

      1. In my 20s I was having bad reactions to diet soda. It was linked back to caffeine. For years I drank caffeine free soda. The carbonated sodas were hurting my fibro so I cut those out too. If I eat too much chocolate my body let’s me know.
