Let’s discuss a quote today.
TODAY’S QUOTE:
“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospect.” ~ Anaïs Nin
MY THOUGHTS:
I am not very sure what “to taste life” means. If it means a pleasurable experience , then I agree with the quote. Writing is indeed an activity very much to my taste.
Revisiting what you have written is a good experience, albeit a somewhat narcissistic one. I must confess that sometimes I read my old posts and think they are rather good.
What do you think? How would you interpret this quote?
Credit for today’s quote goes to Paula Light, who featured it on her blog last week.
I think of the post I shared yesterday. On Saturday I went to Stirling Castle and had a brilliant day. To me, the quote refers to the time I spent yesterday writing about the experience, reliving the visit through my memories. I will also write more about the castle visit later, but ‘tasting life’ to me would be about reliving the visit – the experience through memories, and capturing them in words and with photos makes it a deeper experience than just sitting with my memories

I guess it’s another way to relive our memories.
