The 5 Things tag keeps surfacing on WordPress. I am not sure who first thought of it but I have always found it fun to do. I thought “Why not make it a weekly feature?”
If you participate in a post of your own please tag it #5things.
Today’s topic is “Good for You” foods that you enjoy.
Fruit also forms the basis of many delicious dessert from the simplest salads and trifles to the fanciest pavlovas.
Fruit
Fruit is a food packed chockful of vitamins, anti-oxidants and fibre. What a great thing that it is bursting with flavour and aroma too. Fruit also forms the basis of many delicious dessert from the simplest salads and trifles to the fanciest pavlovas.
Fish
All moms tell their kids that fish is brain food and most children shy away from it. Luckily for me, I enjoy fish in all its forms whatever way it is cooked. I draw the line at sushi made with raw fish, however.
Multi grain Bread
High fibre bread with various whole grains and seeds has a lovely texture and flavour. When freshly toasted, it is so fragrant and flavourful that it does not really need butter or any other spread.
Peanuts
What a great thing that peanuts, in addition to being yummy contain HDL (good cholesterol). Peanut butter is a heart healthy butter substitute too.
Broccoli
As a part of salad, soup, omelettes or sides, broccoli tastes great.
Yes to everything but broccoli 😅 my IBS doesn’t like it too much

That’s a pity.
Then you must be having trouble with spinach too.
My mother has suffered IBS all her life so I know first hand what it’s like.

Funny enough spinach doesn’t bother me at all… I actually love it!

Lucky you.
My poor mum loves spinach but it brings on a really bad IBS episode if she ever has it.
That is the tricky thing about IBS. The triggers are different for different people and also different for the same person over varying periods.

Yummy and healthy choices you gave Dr. Tanya! I love fish (seafood in general) too, but where I live is land-locked, so if one wants ‘fresh’ seafood, one has to pay more. I do like sushi, but I agree it’s an acquired taste and some folks don’t enjoy it.

Same here. Fish is safe only during the winter months.
I don’t mind sushi made with cooked stuff.
