FOWC with Fandango — House

Today’s prompt made me think of several stories and novels I have read that have the word “house” in their title.

1.The Doll’s House by Katherine Mansfield

This is a story about schoolchildren on the surface. It is actually a social commentary that highlights class distinction and discrimonation.

2. Crooked House by Agatha Christie

One of my favourite Christies, it portrays an eccentric family that forms the backdrop for the murder story.

3. The House on the Strand by Daphne du Maurier

I read this book as a child, having obtained it from the school library and I did not appreciate it. It is a Gothic tale of travel betwen past and present. I need to read it again.

4. Little House on the Prairie by Laura Imgalls Wilder

A book about settlers in America, and how they made a life for themselves in the “wild West”. It was adapted into a TV series in the 70s
